curried lamb stew


This is the same basic recipe for Beef Stew and Pork Stew.

This is also very similar to Lamb's Breast with Peas & Carrots, but uses a better-quality meat.

This is what you need for 4-6 servings:

  • 2 lbs. lamb meat, cubed
  • 8 potatoes
  • ½ medium onion, chopped small
  • 1 ½ lbs. carrots
  • 1 can sweet peas
  • 1 glass red wine
  • S&P
  • garlic turmeric / curry powder
  • (hot?) chile pepper


  • Cut the meat in stew-sized pieces.
  • Brown the onions and meat.
  • Add the vegetables, wine,
  • Season to taste: S&P, turmeric, curry and chile pepper powder.
  • Add enough water to mostly cover all.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat, reduce heat, cover and simmer 90 minutes or until meat is tender
  • Serve and enjoy.
