peas & carrots

The great classic combination, nearly mandatory with leg of lamb. I usually add some onion as well. (Pic1) 

This is a frequent flyer with many other dishes as well, including soups. Many of my mixed vegetable soups also have peas & carrots.

I sometimes combine the two, but most often I buy the frozen peas & carrots mix. They are also included in the classic vegetable mix together with green beans and corn. I sometimes use the store-bought metal cans.

This is what you need for 2 servings:

  • 1/2 lb. sweet peas
  • 1/2 lb. carrots
  • 1 medium onion, chopped coarsely
  • S&P

peas & carrots with curried cream sauce 


Peas & carrots are a faithful companion to lamb. This recipe adds a taste of curry with it.


This is what you need for 2 servings:

  • 1 lb. peas & carrots mix
  • ½ onion, chopped small
  • olive oil
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • curry powder
  • S&P
  • 1 tsp. oil dough


  • sugar
  • sugar snap peas
  • garden beans
