caper burger with lettuce and tomato

I like to prepare filet Américain with capers. The capers add a nice flavor contrast with the meat.

 I sometimes cook leftovers I don't care to eat raw. Make sure to cook over low heat, because the added sugars form the condiments will make the burger char very quickly if too hot, long before the patty is cooked through. (Pic4)

This is what you need for each serving:

  • burger patty from filet Américain
  • 1 large beefsteak tomato
  • lettuce
  • mayo or other condiment
