vegetable drinks

Thanks to the wonder of electricity, making vegetable juices is so much easier than in the golden olden times where one had to use a press to get vegetable juice. Electric juicers may look different, but they work on the same principle: pulp the fruits / vegetables, separate liquid from pulp by centrifuge.

The above pictures that my mother sent me were a reminder that we have a juicer too. It hadn't been used in several years. I had to dig through my storage to find it.

We buy even more fruit now than we used to. Because a juicer can be useful to process excess fruit, the juicer stayed on the kitchen counter and that second (oversize for the two of us) coffee maker went into storage instead.

Don't underestimate the amount of fruit or vegetables you need to make just one glass of juice. These fresh juices may be enjoyable, but they don't come cheap.

INGREDIENTS

This is what you need for each serving:

  • 2 lbs. kiwis
  • 2-3 lbs. apples
  • 2-3 lbs. carrots
