Oats are easy to sprout at home. Cats and dogs will love you for it. All you need is viable oats seeds. I bought a 50 lb. bag of whole oats horse feed which lasted me several years.

A lot of these seeds produced leaves that were very poor in chlorophyll (Pic1) which means that the seed will germinate, but the plant will die as soon as the food reserve of the seed was exhausted.

INGREDIENTS

This is what you need:

viable oats seeds (horse feed)

Directions

Spread the seeds on the surface. Cover with a thin layer of dirt.
Water regularly to keep the soil moist.
Let the cats destroy it when 6-10" high = 5-6 weeks old.

b. oatmeal

Oats are nowadays available parboiled and rolled flat, so they can be fully cooked in just a few minutes. I prefer to cook them with milk instead of water.

INGREDIENTS

This is what you need for each serving:

1 cup oats
1-2 cups milk
sweetener of your choice

Directions

Cook according to the instructions on the package.
Stay close and stir frequently if cooking the oats in milk.
Rest a few minutes before serving.
Stir in sweetener to taste.
Enjoy.
