nopales & potatoes casserole


A very nice combination that I have never seen in Mexico.
This is the same recipe as endive and/or leek with ham & cheese béchamel; the  only difference between these three is he main vegetable.


This is what you need for 4 servings:

  • 1 lb. nopales, cleaned, sliced
  • 2 large potatoes, sliced thin

ham & cheese béchamel sauce

  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 2 cups milk ½ lb.
  • Swiss cheese, chopped
  • ½ lb. ham, chopped
