rabbit shepherd’s pie


Shepherd pie is a layered oven-dish with meat on the bottom, mashed potatoes on top and something else in between. Cook the ingredients in advance, otherwise you risk having partially uncooked items.

I used mushrooms and a can of mixed vegetables on the bottom, pulled rabbit meat in the middle and mashed potatoes& carrots on top. Feel free to adjust the ingredients and layering order to your liking.

The tortilla is completely optional, was a bit of a joke. Around here, anything that’s wrapped in tortilla is a burrito. I made a really big one. :-)


This is what you need for 4-6 servings:

  • 2 cups pulled rabbit meat
  • 2 cups vegetables or fruit of choice
  • 2 apples, cored, peeled, sliced
  • 1 cups carrots, cooked, diced and mashed
  • 2 cups potatoes, cooked, diced and mashed
  • S&P, seasoning of your choice
