BBQ ribs, steamed & grilled

2014-06-13

This is the only time I successfully grilled pork ribs on my outdoor grill.

I never succeeded before. I can't turn the burners low enough and it always ended with a grease fire. To reduce the fire hazard, I trimmed back much of the visible fat and then steamed the ribs to render out even more. By then, the ribs were already fully cooked, so I only had to warm them through again. That was apparently enough to avoid a fire.

The indoor grill in the oven works so much better for pork ribs, and I've never set them on fire there. :-)
