This is long-fiber muscle, similar to brisket. This was labeled 'pectoral steak' which is a bit cheaper than brisket. Same as brisket, this requires long moist-cook by braising or slow-roasting in the oven until the muscle fibers become easy to separate from each other. Crockpot would work too.

Optionally, refry after pulling the meat for tacos or burritos.

This is Covid-quarantine cooking: not very quick, but simple enough in 3 saucepans.

INGREDIENTS

This is what you need for 2 servings:

  • 1 1/2 lb. brisket-type meat
  • 1 cup Red Mills veggie soup mix
  • mashed potatoes, flakes or fresh
  • S&P
