refried beef tongue tacos

aka tacos de lengua, a very popular item with Mexican street vendors.
These tacos are usually made with small corn tortillas, and can be served soft or deep-fried.

On a not-so-funny April 1st, during the Covid-19 pandemic  


This is what you need for 2 servings:

  • 4 corn tortillas
  • olive oil
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
    OR 2 lbs. fresh plum tomatoes, stewed down
  • beef tongue, sliced
  • S&P, seasoning of your choice
