oven-baked BBQ ribs

2016-03-15

BBQ ribs always seem to be popular when summer draws near. My problem with ribs is that they have so much fat that I’ve never been able to grill them without literally setting the grill on fire. The grease fire always ruins the meat and all that effort comes to nothing. No fun there.

Oven-baking is imo a much safer alternative and you don’t have to be in attendance all the time. If you are counting calories, be aware that ribs can pack more than 2K cal. / lb. Oven-baking or braising will render out some of that fat but not nearly all of it. It remains a very fatty dish.
