ribeye Provençal


Steak Provençal is a classic French / Belgian recipe. The sauce is a vegetable stew, so no other vegetables are needed than your daily serving of starches. I have served this with boiled potatoes, fries or rice.

This one was prepared with the sauce I made on 2020-06-05 with sweet mini peppers instead of bell peppers and then frozen for later use. The flavor is slightly different when made with regular bell peppers, but both are quite enjoyable.

I did not take pictures while I was preparing the steak, so the pictures on this page are a bit limited.


This is what you need for each serving:

  • 1 ribeye steak, 1/2 to 3/4 lbs.
  • olive oil
  • S&P
  • 1-2 cups Provencal sauce
  • 1-2 medium potatoes
    here red, boiled skin-on
