caldito de rez

aka beef soup with vegetables

Caldillo = stew; caldito = soup.

This is the Caldillo de Rez recipe, taken one step further by adding extra water and seasoning to get the soup.


This is what you need for 4 servings:

  • 1 lb. thin-cut chuck steak
  • 3 carrots
  • ½ onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 potatoes
  • 2 medium Portobello mushrooms
  • 3 tomatoes
  • S&P
  • cilantro
  • optional:
    • 1 qt. beef stock
