Sigfrid Karg-Elert (1877-1933) schrieb überwiegend für die Orgel und das Harmonium, darunter zahlreiche Transkriptionen der Werke anderer Komponisten.
Seine Version des schon zu seiner Zeit so beliebten Ave Maria spielt Arturo Sacchetti an der Orgel der Chiesa della Divina Provvidenza, Florenz.
