sintemal ich von keinem Manne weiß?
Fürchte dich nicht, Maria,
der heilige Geist wird über dich kommen,
und die Kraft des Höchsten wird dich überschatten,
darum auch das Heilige,
das von dir geboren wird,
wird Gottes Sohn genennet werden,
und siehe, Elisabeth, deine Gefreundin
ist auch schwanger mit einem Sohne in ihrem Alter
und gehet jetzt im sechsten Monat,
die im Geschrei ist, daß sie unfruchtbar ist,
denn bei Gott ist kein Ding unmöglich. Siehe, ich bin des Herren Magd,
mir geschehe, wie du gesagt hast.

MARY: What manner of salutation is this?
ANGEL: Hail, Mary, thou that art highly favoured! The Lord is with thee:
blessed art thou among women. Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found favour
with God! And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a
son shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the
Son of the Highest.
MARY: How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
ANGEL: The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee,
and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:
therefore also that holy thing shall be born of thee
