Biography information provided by the publisher:  (and updated by avemariasongs)

born in 1913 in Milan,
Bruno Bettinelli studied at the "G. Verdi" Conservatory of Milan and later became the teacher of composition at that consevatory, a post he maintained for many years. Among his students there are some of the greatest Italian composers and musicians such as Riccardo Muti, Claudio Abbado, Maurizio Pollini, Aldo Ceccato, and Riccardo Chailly.

He has written many symphonic, choral and chamber works, receiving numerous prizes and awards at national and international competitions.
Also noteable was his activity as a music critic.
Later in life, he dedicated himself nearly exclusively to composing religious and secular a cappella choral works.

Bruno Bettinelli died in New York in 2004 at the age of 91.
