Lyrics:  “Marian Suite” (8:53)

Ave Maria, gratzia plena,
 Dominus tecum
 Benedicta tu in mulieribus,
Et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jésu.
 Sancta Maria, Mater Dei;
 Ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
Nunc, et in ora mortis nostrae.
Ave Maria, Sancta Maria, Mater Dei. Amen.

[Hail Mary, full of grace,
 blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus

 Holy Mary, mother of God,
 pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Hail Mary, Holy Mary, mother of God. Amen.]
 “Thanksgiving” – instrumental]

“Hail Mary”
Hail Mary, full of grace art thou,
Among women, blessed, blessed art thou
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.

Ave Maria! Ave Maria!
Sancta Maria, Sancta Maria.
Holy Mary, mother of God,
We beseech you, pray for us sinners now,
And at the hour of our death. Amen.

Ave Maria! Ave Maria!
 Sancta Maria, Sancta Maria.
Baruch atah adonai eloheinu melech ha'olam
 Shehecheyanu v'kiy'manu v'higyanu lazman hazeh.
 [Blessed are you, our God,
 Creator of time and space,
Who has supported us, protected us
And brought us safe to this moment.]

Holy Mary, mother of God
 Holy queen from heav'n above.

Grace us with thy saving pow'r.
Heal us with thy saving grace.

            (Sancta Maria.)
 Ave Maria, Sancta Maria.
 Hail, Maria, holy Maria,
 Blessed mother of God. Amen!

Namasté  (I bow to you.) The divine in me greets the divine in you.
Shalom / salaam.
I am Daniel Beck Zwickel ben Avram MacJean ben Chaim of Hoss, Wicks & of Winter and I am a life-afirminist rationalist idealist/pragmatist mystic ovo-lacto activist-pacifist eco feminist anarchist Zen neo-pagan Judeo-Christian secular/ sacred humanistic pan-theistic existentialist Universalist & Troubadour of Jazz. Namasté.
So much for formalities. To most I am a musician — a formally-trained singer, self-taught guitarist (heavily Feliciano-influenced folk), songwriter and composer and, lately, a Web designer. To many I am Abe and Jean’s son, and that means more to me than any of the aforementioned. Which is not to diminish the importance of earning a living, just that I am truly their legacy, and I disrespect that at my peril.
Basta. Below you see four sound panels, for your listening pleasure. The first is a tune I wrote for Katy, a waitress at a restaurant where I had a gig for a time. It is called “Be My Friend”. The other three are from my CD, “Metanoia — a Universalist Mass”. The tracks are: “Imagine / Sing To the Heart!”, “Eucharist Suite / Our Father” (a product of sixteen years as Cantor in a Catholic church), “In the Quiet Of the Day” / “It Seems To Me” and “Marian Suite”. I’m afraid my big band setting for the ‘Ave Maria’ may have scandalized a nun friend of mine, but that’s what St. Joseph the Worker got for their money. No dummy, they — want a good Cantor, hire a Jew.
If you want to know more about me, you may read my bio. Otherwise, by my works thou shall know me. The menu is to you left. Explore to your heart’s content.
(One suggestion. If you go exploring my other myriad Websites, you may want to cut any music you may be listening to (even mine!) as a number of them have background music.)
—Peace, Daniel ben Avram
