This music is assumed to be public domain in the USA. BEWARE: the modern-day recordings of that music are not!
This music is assumed to be under copyright protection in the USA
Works by this person are most likely not public domain within the EU and in those countries where the copyright term is life+70 years. They may also be protected by copyright in the USA, unless published before 1923, in which case they are PD there as well. However, this person's works are public domain in Canada (where IMSLP is hosted), and in other countries where the copyright term is life+50 years.

This is the status of what I currently have acquired: 12 settings, 10 identified with year of composition.

Problem with classification:
The 2nd recording (Villa-Lobos Songs - Views & Miniatures) lists this song as A 319. I assumed at first that this referred to the Appleby number.
However, W00319 is listed in the catalogue as SATB a cappella, but both recordings are solo voice + accomp. instr.

Comment: This listing is incomplete and rather confusing.  Even Museu Villa-Lobos cannot provide a complete listing.
bulletIt appears that several of the listed works were never published.
bulletEven some of the listed scores appear to have been lost (Partitura não localizada)
bulletSeveral of the listed works do not have a sequence number or a composition year listed, making it impossible to include them in a chronological sequence.
bulletThere are inconsistencies between recording attributions and the catalog listings.
bulletNone of the available catalogue listings provides a complete listing.

Help requested: If you can ID the different settings or you have a score that is not listed here, please let me know?
If you have the score or use NWC for your choir, please send me a copy, so I can ID these settings correctly. Thank you.
