    Antonio Martinez
I am a choral musician working in church music and opera. I am Director of
Music and Dramatic Arts at St. Martin's Lutheran church in Sugar Land, TX,
where I direct both adult and youth mixed choirs and handbell ensembles and
a nine-piece chamber orchestra. I also coordinate and prepare liturgical
drama. Outside of church, I sing tenor in the Houston Grand Opera Chorus.

Prior to crossing to the director's side of the stand, I was a paid singer
in several Houston area churches. I studied at the Moores School of Music at
the University of Houston, taking voice from the late Debria Brown and
conducting with Dr. Charles Hausmann, director of choral studies, and Dr.
Joel F. Plaag, director of choral studies at Lyon College, Batesville, AR.
The highlight of those years was placing as a semi-finalist in the 2001
American Choral Directors Association National Student Conducting Awards.

I freely admit that music is my love and outlet and without it, I would be
on the nightly news for actions much to gruesome to mention here.
