Father Antoni Chlondowski was reared on the Rybnicki land
and came from a religious and musical family. He studied in Rome and
Rytyzbon (School of Church Music), obtaining a Ph.D. from the Gregorian
University in Rome. Father Chlondowski founded the Silesian School for Organ
Builders in Przemysl (open until 1963), and was the first chancellor of this
institution (1916-1924). He composed more than 100 opuses published in print
form, 11 Latin masses, textbooks on harmony with examples and organ
preludes. In 1963 Father Chlondowski died in Warsaw. |
