cocktail sauce

This is how Europeans make cocktail sauce. This is known in Mexico as salsa rosa or pink sauce.

Cognac adds a unique and unmistakable flavor without any chance of inebriation.
I use Mezcalito instead of cognac, much cheaper but still a similar flavor.

This is very different from the ketchup with hot sauce that goes under this same name in the US of A.

INGREDIENTS

This is what you need for 1 ½ cups:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp. ketchup
  • 1 tbsp. cognac
    or 1 tbsp. orange juice for kids
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • S&P

Optional:

  • hot pepper powder or sauce
