deep-fried smelt

I ordered these online frozen. The ones we received were tiny, fried down to nearly nothing. They were nicely crunchy, but didn't have much food value in them.

INGREDIENTS

This is what you need for 2 servings:

1 lb. smelt, frozen
deep-fryer

Directions

Heat the deep-fryer to 350 ºF.
Fry the spelt for 4-6 minutes in small enough portions to keep the temperature high.
Drain on paper towels, pat dry.
Serve immediately with the sauce of your choice. Enjoy.
