- up to 1 lb. onion, to taste
- butter / cooking oil
- S&P

This is the starting recipe for almost every loose-cooked ground beef recipe. Other things can be added, but the onions are almost always there. Add sauce and various condiments to get pasta sauce.
Some people start with the onions, others mix them up first and pan-fry the together.
I prefer to cook with olive oil instead of butter. You do your thing.

So simple, so easy and so good, this one-skillet meal. Potatoes and carrots are a popular combination, but you can add any vegetables you like.
This is moist-cooking. When you use raw potatoes, you have to stew them to get tender. Dry-cooking raw potatoes only will get you scorched raw potatoes.
