This is a very simple recipe: throw it all together and let it cook overnight.
You'll have fall-apart duck the next morning.
It doesn't matter much what vegetables you use. Choose from whatever you have in the house. That's what I did.
Pic1+2:
crockpot duck
This is what you need for 8 servings:
-
A small duck
-
2lbs
carrots,
potatoes,
cauliflower,
broccoli
-
onions?
-
S&P
-
spices to taste
The only difference between soup and stew / pot roast is about 4 qts of water and some extra seasoning.
-
If you want soup (like I did),
- Surround the duck with layers of carrots, potatoes, cauliflower, and broccoli.
- Alternatively, add the vegetables in the morning to have them crisper.
- Add water to 1" under the rim.
- Add S&P to taste.
- Slow-cook on low overnight.
- Serve and enjoy.
-
If you want a pot roast:
- Start the duck with only 1 cup of water on low overnight.
The duck will release fat and liquid during the night.
- Add vegetables and S&P the next morning without adding more water.
- Cook another 1-2 hrs.
- Serve and enjoy.
