Anne Victorino d'Almeida was born on the 15th
December 1978 in Poissy (France). Being the youngest of the composer António
Victorino d'Almeida’s daughters, her will to study music was early woken,
having started with piano lessons at the age of four, in Vienna, Austria .
At the age of seven, and already in Portugal, she began her violin lessons
at the Fundação Musical dos Amigos das Crianças with Inês Barata, with whom
she studied for eleven years, finishing at that same school the 8th degree
under the guidance of Leonor Prado .
In 1997 she joins the Rueil-Malmaison Regionional Conservatory (France)
studying in the class of Dominique Barbier. A year later she returns to
Lisbon and joins the class of Agnès Sarosi in the National Superior Academy
of Orchestra, graduating in 2003 .
Throughout her musical career she had the opportunity to attend a diversity
of courses and improvement classes with honourable pedagogues and violinists
like James Dahlgreen, Gerardo Ribeiro, Galina Turtchaninova, Gilles Apap and
Maxim Vengerov.
After her degree she was still supervised by António Anjos.
In 2004 she attends and concludes the first year of orchestra direction in
the National Superior Academy of Orchestra.
She has been dedicating part of her musical career to the composition of
Soundtracks, having been awarded (a prize) for the best musical proposal, in
the "Teatro na Década 97" contest. She also composed the music of several
plays, staged scene in theatres, namely, the Portuguese Youth Institute,
Teatro da Comuna, and Teatro da Trindade.
In 2006 she composed the soundtrack of the documentary "Cartas a uma
Ditadura" directed by Inês de Medeiros staged several theatres both
nationally and abroad.
She was founding member of the Lopes-Graça Quartet with which has been
performing in several points around the country.
Very dedicated to teaching, she has lectured violin since 2000 at the
Metropolitan Music Conservatory of Lisbon and has also been a teacher at the
Music School of the National Conservatory since 2004.
