| Alan MacMillan was born in Nyack,
New York in 1947. He studied music at Boston University and at Harvard,
winning prizes in composition at both schools and receiving his Ph.D. from
Harvard in 1977. During his Harvard years he also seved as Assistant
Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Boston University. |
