Sophia Ruckel (Holden) Huss; grad. Royal Conservatory, Munich, Bavaria,
1882; m. 1904. Hildegard Hoffmann, concert singer of Brooklyn, N. Y. As
pianist has played with N. Y. Philharmonic, Boston Symphony; Cincinnati and
Pittsburgh symphony concerts, Kneisel concerts; and in other cities.
Composer of concertos for violin and piano (with orchestral accompaniment) ;
trio for piano, violin, and cello; String Quartette; Sonata for violin and
piano; "Sanctus" and "Ave Maria" for chorus and orchestra; and soprano solo,
Cleopatra's Death, with orchestral accompaniment, and other compositions.
