The composer of this piece is a mystery - and Ambroise Farman is very likely a pseudonym for someone better-known. Several pieces appeared under his name in the early 1920s, and this one was published by JH Larway in 1924. It uses the same wide arpeggio with the top note taken in the left hand as in the Chorale of Franck's 'Prelude Chorale and Fugue'. Other composers who have used the same title (which means 'evening music') include Cyril Scott and Claude Bolling.
