Paris and Florence After spending 4 years in Zurich and 3 in Washington DC
where an amateur opera company organized by him brought out his 4 act grand
opera VaUrii he held positions as organist in Phila Elizabeth NJ Jersey City
and New Vork from 18S4 org of St Ignatius Works Over 100 songs over 50

Born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., January 23, 1838. Son of
Jonas Preston Fairlamb and Hannah Kennedy Fairlamb. Organist; composer; U.S.
Consul General in Zurich, 1862-65. Died in Ingleside, Queens, Queens County,
N.Y., April 16, 1908. Burial location unknown.
